    Lugano Art Event - WopArt

On the occasion of its 3rd Lugano Art Event The BNP Paribas Swiss Foundation presents, in collaboration with Wopart, the work of Rachele Monti, the young ticinese artist selected and supported by the Foundation.
The works of Rachele will be exhibited in the bank’s premises in Lugano, as well as on BNP Paribas Swiss Foundation Stand at WopArt 2019.
Rachele was born in Airolo (Ticino, Switzerland) in 1990.  As visual artist, she uses photography as her main medium and as a tool, a support for installations comprised of multiple layers of pictures and videos. She offers interpretations between reality and fantasy, a way, she says, to “digest” the world, “between anxiety and sublime, beauty and violence”. Gravitating between the solid world and sensorial experiences, Rachele Monti’s work thematises the symptomatic transformation of emotions into images. Technicalities of the photographic medium are challenged by the deliberate use of light, colour, layering and sound, as tools to touch upon one’s sensations and memories of all that is unspeakable.
