The Austrian National Bank (OeNB) played a key role in founding the Leopold Museum in 1994. The exhibition “Premiere!” celebrates this partnership and presents a broad overview of the OeNB’s art collection.
Since the late 1980s, the OeNB has collected Austrian art from 1918 to today, focusing on interwar movements and abstraction after 1945. The exhibition highlights major developments in Austrian art, including interwar works, contemporary parallels across generations, diverse approaches to abstraction, and significant sculptures.
