ESSENTIAL MATTERS is a group exhibition with more than 30 moving image works which aim at reviewing the course of moving image in China through the perspective of the artists. Theme of the exhibition is to question how video and real-time-based media artists perceive "realities" which have come up as a result of a series of historical, political, social and economic transitions Chinese Society has gone through in the course of the 21th century.
