    Ola Kolehmainen: Sinan Project
    Curator: Necmi Sönmez
Ola Kolehmainen realized the Sinan Project between 2012–2014, after having been commissioned by Borusan Contemporary. The outcome of this Project is exhibited on the entire fourth floor. Having a thorough interest in how Sinan used the element of light, Kolehmainen figured out how and where to position his camera during the day throughout months and seasons. The most important development of this meticulous work is Kolehmainen’s inquiry of the perfection of Sinan’s forms. The answer to this question can be found in the masterpieces of the Byzantine architecture in Istanbul. The artist, while exploring Sinan’s works, also studied Hagia Sophia, Little Hagia Sophia and Chora, and collected a visual database of architectural forms that reached their maturity through cross-cultural inspiration. This database provides the foundation of the Sinan Project.Ola Kolehmainen realized the Sinan Project between 2012–2014, after having been commissioned by Borusan Contemporary.
