Artist's prints in the Attijariwafa bank collection. A look at a craft's practice
This new exhibition follows a series of thematic explorations carried out by Attijariwafa bank Foundation, with the aim of making the Group’s collection more and more accessible to the public and raising awareness among employees of the greatdiversity of artistic practices and trends represented. The exhibition presents a selection of some sixty lithographs, engravings and serigraphs published in limited editions in studios printmakers over a period of some thirty years between the 1960s and 1980s. A choice has been made from the collection to represent a fine selection of individual paths such as Aziz Abou Ali, Hassan El Glaoui or group initiatives from Farid Belkahia, Mohamed Chabâa, Mohammed Melehi... The Artists’ Prints in Attijariwafa bank collection exhibition is also a tribute to a number of Moroccan artists who, for more than half a century, have contributed to introducing, using and improving the modes of expression offered by fine art printmaking, starting with the pioneer Malika Agueznay to whom this exhibitionis dedicated. The choice of the print as the theme of this exhibition is also based on the fact that its integration into the Attijariwafa bank collection, spread over some twenty years, has allowed a certain democratization of art among the bank’s employees.
